need help navigating an ethical issue in your research?

request an ethics consult.

The ethics consult is a free service available to any NASA investigator or NASA-supported research team that needs support navigating or resolving ethical, legal, social challenges. Investigators may contact the ethics consult team to advise on ethical issues at any stage in their space medicine research, from study design to dissemination. The research ethics service is modeled after clinical consult services at the bedside, and is offered as part of a collaboration between TRISH and the Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy at Baylor College of Medicine.

To request support from the METEORS ethics service, simply complete an investigator intake form that provides background information about your study, details the nature of your ethics question(s), and proposes available dates/times to meet one on one with a METEORS team member.

The METEORS team will meet with you to discuss your research ethics issue and provide recommendations consistent with best practices and relevant laws/policies/regulations and ethics norms.
